Director General of Vocational Education (Dirjen Diksi) Dr. Kiki Yuliati paid a visit to Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) as well as officially inaugurated Polnep’s Integrated Lecture Building (GKT). Upon her arrival, Director General Dr. Kiki Yuliati was welcomed with traditional welcome dance performed by Polnep students and followed by shawl garlanding by Polnep’s Senate Chair Prof. Dr. Hj. Nurmala. Afterwards, the entourage had a mini tour to view some rooms located in the building and stopped in the main hall of Polnep’s Integrated Lecture Building as the venue of the main event.
The inauguration was attended by Polnep’s senior officials, staffs, and student’s representations of eight departments existing in Pontianak State Polytechnic. The event was started with traditional Malay dance performance and followed by video screening of building handover from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to Polnep back in 2022. Afterwards, all audience sang the national anthem Indonesia Raya (Great Indonesia) and followed by performance from Polnep students’ choir singing the anthem of Pontianak State Polytechnic. Later on. in order to seek for blessings from the Almighty Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, Dr. Didik M. Nur Haris led the audience to pray.
In his welcoming remarks, Director of Polnep Dr. H. Widodo PS. expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Dirjen Diksi Dr. Kiki Yuliati who spared her time to fulfill invitation from Pontianak State Polytechnic. He also highly hoped that Dr. Kiki Yuliati could assist Polnep to continue and complete the construction of Polnep’s auditorium building.
A moment later, Dirjen Diksi Dr. Ir. Kiki Yuliati, M.Sc. delivered her remarks. She stated that this was her first visit to Polnep after she had to cancel two official visits previously. She also told the audience that she was in peace of mind if it was about Polnep. It was proven when Polnep ranked 12 out of 44 state polytechnics across Indonesia with 6400 applicants in the 2024 National Selection of New Student Admission (SNPMB). “Based on SINDE (Electronic Official Document System), Polnep also receives no negative-tone letters,” she added. Polnep students also did great job by gaining many achievements either in local, national, or even international level.
For information, Polnep’s Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) was started to be build back in 2013 with stage 1 budget of IDR 15.6 billion. Followed by stage 2 in 2025 with budget of IDR 70.8 billion. Eventually, the construction process was completed in 2021 with stage 3 budget of IDR 70.99 billion.
